Sonny With A Chance (OT)

Demi Lovato briefly talked to MTV about her new TV show Sonny With A Chance: 'We just released the video [for the single 'La La Land'], which is promoting my show. It really describes the show. I'm excited about that.

The show is actually a sitcom. It's the Disney version of '30 Rock,' On that show, we have a rivalry with another show, and there's so many, like, crazy plot lines. I play this girl who comes to LA, or Hollywood, and is kind of thrown into all this madness.'

Demi admitted that her character, Sonny, is a lot like her. She's a small-town girl who finds fame and fortune in Los Angeles: 'And she's, like, this little Midwestern or Wisconsin girl I kind of can relate to. I'm from Texas and I'm thrown into this [thing that's like], 'Whoa everything is awesome.' It's really interesting.'

The comedy series Sonny With A Chance tells the story of Allison 'Sonny' Munroe, a talented Midwestern girl who, after posting her homemade comedy videos online, is discovered by a television producer and gets the chance to star in 'So Random!,' the most popular sketch comedy series for kids and tweens.

After relocating to California with her mother, she meets the 'So Random!' cast of characters she hopes to make her friends. But Sonny's bubbly disposition doesn't win over the resident queen of the cast, Tawni Hart.

Tawni will do anything to be the biggest star of 'So Random!' and has dreaded the arrival of the show's newest cast member, fearing her spotlight may shine on Sonny instead. Rounding out the 'So Random!' cast is the quirky, original Zora, the confident and cool Nico and his sidekick, the gregarious, fearless Grady. In addition to her fellow cast members,

Sonny meets heartthrob Chad Dylan Cooper, star of the popular tween drama 'MacKenzie Falls,' which films on the adjacent stage. Sonny quickly learns that Chad's ego is more than she can handle and that there's a longstanding rivalry between the two casts.

Along with behind the scenes banter, Sonny With A Chance showcases the comedy sketches of 'So Random!,' which include Grady as 'Dolphin Boy,' Tawni as 'Queen Bee' and 'Pageant Girl,' and Sonny and Tawni as 'The Check It Out Girls.'

Starring are Demi Lovato as Allison 'Sonny' Munroe; Tiffany Thornton (Hatching Pete) as Tawni Hart; Sterling Knight (17 Again) as Chad Dylan Cooper; Brandon Mychal Smith (Phil of the Future) as Nico Harris; Doug Brochu (iCarly) as Grady Mitchell;

Allisyn Ashley Arm (Dive Olly Dive!) as Zora Lancaster. Recurring cast members include Nancy McKeon (Facts of Life, The Division) as Connie Munroe, and Michael Kostroff (The Wire) as executive producer Marshall Pike

The story involves Sonny Monroe (Demi Lovato) as a new cast in the hit TV show "So Random!"
If you've seen the La La Land music video, almost all of the stars there are from "Sonny With A Chance"

Demi Lovato spilled to BOP! what went down during her audition for the lead role on Sonny With A Chance. 'It was the craziest audition I've ever done. I was told it was sketch comedy and I had to stick my face in pig slop. I brought a bowl of beef stew to the audition and an extra T-shirt and a bib.

The casting directors thought I brought, like, crackers or something light to use. Only I could see what was in the bowl. They were like, 'Seriously, don't be afraid to get messy.' I got beef stew all over me! They were dying laughing.'

She's so dedicated to her work that she didn't mind getting messy. She really deserves the role!

Demi is seriously getting prettier and prettier everytime I see her. =) Especially now when she seems happier. She is so cute here.

Poll'd Apart: Sonny and Tawni are hurt that they've become the targets of 'Tween Weekly's' gossip blogger, Sharona, so they plot their revenge on her at the 'Oh No You Di'int' Awards. Meanwhile, Nico & Grady try to convince Chad to drive them to the award show in his new car
